i'm gonna call it "battle for the terrain"

before the psp was invented, or nintendo thought of ds lite, or DOTA or any online game, there was Grand Theft Auto, Warcraft: orcs and humans, warcraft II: tides of darkness, and my favorite: Warcraft III:Reign of Chaos. yes, back when computer games were the deal, I was a gamer. I probably still consider myself a gamer, just not so obssesed with it anymore.

but that isn't the story.

i had the coolest dream last night.

it was video game-- and i was in it.

i know i know, i have to work on the title because it sucks. and probably the rest of level 2 and the start of level 3 and 4.

so it starts with two teams. I was the commander of the right side. we had troops of course. I chose my team to have the equal amount of boys and girls, because yes, girls can kick ass too. my opponent chose children..weird huh. but i guess i made up the rule that 1adult=4children. so she had 3x (wasn't all kids) the size of my team.

wait why am i using she? well, we both have captains, but for some reason we (commanders)called the plays. and for another odd reason, we were the ones guarding the base. kung baga sa agawan base, kami yung laging naiiwan dun.

so the usual fight goes on. and i realize i don't know the rules. i just direct them to where they should be, what they should do, what the should do after their direct opponent dies, when i can substitute my men, and of course monitor the health of my captain.

so "round 1" is coming to a close and I finally learn about a rule. my troops pile in because the opponents asked for a time out with 1:25 minutes to spare. then they say, "we have to decide now, whether to take it this round or not."

i'll stop with the narrating and start with the describing. the game has 4 quarters. each quarter consists of 5mins of battle time but the game will end once the captain's dead, but the game will pretty much finish once the commander's out because she's the one manipulating the plays. each camp consists of a sand tower. level one shows the first floor of the tower which consists of a hub where the commander stays to protect herself from the fight (which is weird because you already have the tower for that. but i guess it's for double protection), stairs behind the hub for the waiting troops, sacks and sacks of ammo, clubs swords and guns and a screen that can have multi-panes so you can either focus on one fight or the fight in a whole. the entrance of the tower was regulated by a gate and two doors. the battle ground started 4 feet from the entrance. There was a part which was elevated but the flat ground was the main battleground.

Rule #1: besides the existing 20mins of the game, each team can get use another 5mins on one level they wish to extend. that makes the game have a total of 30mins of playing time

and that was what they were deciding on. my troops were divided, some wanted to use the 5mins now, some wanted to use the 5 mins on level 4.

argument 1: our team was still strong, another 5mins would probably weaken us.

argument 2: we get the 5mins over with because we're the leading team, so that if something went wrong with level 4, it would be quick.

i had to decide. and so to be fair, we voted on it. argument 1 won.

but that wasn't the coolest part. commander from the opponent's team went to the entrance of the base. and she said, "we have to find a fair way to start this game again" and so we agreed on positioning our troops on the field and the "referee" would shout "FIGHT!". i was standing on the entrance, watching the live action, when my attention focused on one of my troops not doing anything in front of 5 children. I shouted "FIGHT! wth are you doing!" she shouted back that she was finished (because the 5 kids were already on our side. so apparently we can do that)

Rule #2: some of the warriors have mental abilities to make the children (only) switch teams.

she also mentioned that she was waiting for further instructions. so i directed her to help someone in the elevated terrain.

THEN.

i realized that the opponent's commander was still standing near our entrance. and i ask "hey can we do that? i mean, can we actually wander or fight with them?"

she answers "no, but we can fight among ourselves" and comes in with her weapon drawn and pointed at me, closes the doors behind her andmoves forward. I realized that i don't have any weapon on me. heck i don't even know if i have one. then i spot something sword-like in my hub. and quickly draw one to reveal that at the end of the handle was something that appeared to be a glass tubing (like the ones we use in our labs). i don't know how to use it.

but for the first time, i see myself (wearing a gold dress just like the egyptians) and say "really, we're allowed to fight?" haha. so i let the end of my glass tubing hit her left arm, and there like a syringe, i drew blood from her." and suddenly a health bar (like the one in street fighters) appears above her head, and is slowly reducing and the green turning to a golden brown. but we are interrupted by a messenger, who makes my attention shift and my catch run away.

darn. i thought i would win.

seconds were left on level 1. but it was a good fight especially now that I know my opponent was weaker than I.

level 2 was starting and an elevator was revealed. and so I checked the new floor, and all i saw was an old man meditating in a very dark room with 3 windows that show a better view of the fight. i don't know how that old man will be beneficial to the fight because I did wake up to the smell of toasted bread.

darn i'm hungry.
